~ Longkang Fishing @ Anglers Paradise ~

It was an impromptu visit to the Anglers' Paradise as Gladys wanted a guppy for her pet. We end up bringing home 2 containers of fishes. -__-

*The photos turned out to be pretty blurred as I am using my mobile and the battery went flat shortly. :(

Anglers' Paradise is a new prawning and patin fishing spot at punggol. It is situated behind the Punggol Golf Driving Range (much further down from Hai Bin).

Address: 60 Punggol East #01-11 Singapore 828825

Denver & Gladys are extremely delighted to go for their late night Longkang Fishing.

Here is the prawning and fishing rates. *as of Apr 2012

Prawn Fishing
1 Hour - $18
3 Hours - $33

Salt Water Fishing Rates - $8 per rode

Fresh Water Patin Fishing Rates - $5 per rod

Longkang fishing is charged at $10 hourly per child. The package includes a container + a fishing net + 1 hour of Longkang fishing + 1 bottle of mineral water + 1 cup of ice cream.

The children didn't waste any time fishing. Even though the area for longkang fishing is not very big, our kiddos were occupied and entertained for the entire hour!

Denver & Gladys bending their bodies, busy scooping the fishes....
They didn't mind getting wet or the fishes tickling their feet in the waters.

Their catch of the day..

Our kiddos caught a lot of fishes within the hour, that filled up their containers. Poor fishes are fighting for space and air.... Daddy & Mommy helped to set half of the fishes back into the waters and we still have a couple of them to bring back home. We went off to 'redeemed' our cups of ice-cream and mineral bottles before leaving. ^_^

Settling the fishes at home. Denver & Gladys will be checking them out tomorrow morning. :)

~ S'PORE Blog Awards 2012 ~

This is my 3rd year participating in the Singapore Blog Awards and yes... I nominated myself into a couple of categories! The grand prize of 4D3N Macau Trip and $30,000 worth of prizes is truly attractive! ^_^

For more information, check out http://sgblogawards.omy.sg/

Awards aside, my true inspiration comes from my dear ones. It has been a learning journey and we are still exposing ourselves to new arena and things. Blogging started as a hobby which slowly develops into a diary and memorable photo album of our lives. At times, we may not be updating our posts as regulary as Mommy has been busy with work, managing our 2 kiddos and juggling with home matters (Not forgetting enjoying family time together during the weekends!). It takes a lot of comittment and time to blog but it has been a wonderful and rewarding 3 years journey for us!

For the past year, our family has travelled more places, found more friends and participated in more events! As our blog name implies, BPDG will continue to travel and leave our little footprints as much and as far as we can. ^_^  Wishing SBA 2012 a Big Success and All the Best to All Bloggers! :)

~ Easter Fun @ Forest Adventure - Part 3 ~

Stage 11 - Labyrinth Crossing. I thought this looked easier from the ground but it doesn't seems to be the case for Gladys. She said the bridge was shaky and could not find her balance. I guess she does not like the winding path which twists from left to right. Awwww....

Stage 12 - Jungle Crossing. Gladys took the short cut through this stage, holding on to the safety line, while Denver grabbed the hanging ropes to clear this stage correctly. Good job! :)

Stage 13 - Trapeze. This stage is Gladys' worst nightmare. She took her first step out but retreated back as the log was swinging a lot and she could not balance herself. Luckily the instructor stayed with her and gave her guidance. Although she was very scared, our little girl conquered it after a series of screaming and crying! This obstacle also took her the longest time to complete.

Gladys trying her very best despite being afraid!

Denver was too ambitious and ended up losing his strength and gripped. The instructor told him to let go and he was hanged mid-air (thanks to the safety harness). He went back up on the logs again but this time taking step by step to complete the Trapeze!

We are closing to the finishing line. Gladys' spirit is back again as she takes on Stage 14 - Goat Crossing. She is perspiring a lot but looking forward to do the Zipline!

Denver is following up ahead!

Stage 16 - Zipline. This is the coolest and favourite stage of all for the children! After all the hard work, they are rewarded with a good swing to the ground!

 Getting ready for LANDING!

That completes our Kids Course @ Forest Adventure! It was truly exciting and tree-mendous fun!

The children went straight for their Easter Egg Hunt. They were given a number to look for the 3 same numbered egg around the course. Denver & Gladys ran around searching for them under the trees and came back with the coloured eggs. They were rewarded with sweet treats at the end of the session. ^_^

THANK YOU!
Denver and Gladys had a great Easter holiday and we would like to thank Forest Adventure and Impressions for inviting us, and bringing so much joy and excitement for our kiddos. It was an unforgettable experience and they loved it!

~ Easter Fun @ Forest Adventure - Part 2 ~

Let's take you through how our Forest Adventurers conquer the obstacle course!

Gladys took the lead while Denver followed behind. It was a pretty good arrangement as her older brother can watch her from behind and gives her support when needed. :) The harness was attached to a safety line as we watched them from the ground.

Without much guidance, Gladys grabbed the rope and took her very first step on the planks. She balanced her way through and followed by Denver! Applause!

Clearing Stage 2 - Indian Bridge

Next on was Stage 3 - Amazon Bridge which involves crossing over a single rope. Our kiddos did not have much difficulty managing that.

Stage 4 - Stepping Stones. Each little step is taken with caution. The bridge is swinging and they are taking their time to cross it.

Gladys needing some help from Denver as she was not able to wriggle through the safety line. Other than that, Stage 5 - Net Bridge seems to be pretty easy for them.

Here comes Stage 6! Gladys looked very serious here. She is focusing very hard, holding on tightly  to complete this stage.

As we go through the stages, the difficulty level is getting harder and harder. Stage 7 - Zigzag Bridge was giving our girl a hard time. She finds the gap too wide for her little legs to cross due to the zigzag. There was also a longer distance to reach the resting point.

She screamed and wobbled her legs, taking a long time to move. Denver and the other children were waiting behind for her to complete this stage. Hubby and I gave her a lot of guidance and encouragement from below with the instructor standing at the other end giving her advice. Gladys finally moved and conquer this obstacle! Phew!!!

Denver made his way through pretty swiftly although he nearly lost his balance a couple of times.

Stage 8 - Tunnel Crossing. A breathing time for them as they crawl through the wooden tunnel.

Another bridge to cross but our kiddos seems to be pretty comfortable with it by now. Stage 9 cleared with a breeze. Love the smile on Denver's face.

Stage 10 - Wobbly Ladder. They have completed half of the obstacles course. I'm sure Denver & Gladys are getting tired already but they are still moving on strong.

Stage 11 - Log Swing. Gladys don't really enjoy this stage as the log kept swinging. Especially the part where she has to cross to the other log. Thanks to the guidance of the instructor, she reposition herself and went through it smoothly. CHEERS!

Five more stages to go! Will they stumble or give up? Part 3 of our adventure coming up! :)

~ Easter Fun @ Forest Adventure - Part 1 ~

It's Easter Holiday and we were at the Forest Adventure this morning to have some FUN and EXCITEMENT! Located within Bedok Reservoir Park, the Forest Adventure is an aerial course built through the trees, comprises of ladders, bridges, swings, nets, trapezes and giant zip lines. The series of obstacle courses not only challenge your balance and agility but also your courage and confidence!

We were blessed with a good, sunny weather and Denver & Gladys were ready to take on the challenge! They took on the Forest Adventure Mobile Course last year but this is nothing compared to the REAL thing!

To participate in the Kid's course, they need to adhered to the height limit. Denver just hit the limit and Gladys also passed her height check. ^_^

Kids Course: Minimum height: 1.10m – Maximum height: 1.45m

Check out the Forest Adventure Course Map! Apart from Kids Course, there is also the Grand Course with 34 obstacles (including 4 giant zip lines), 6-8m above ground and takes about 2.5 hours to complete!

Let's take a sneak peak on how the Kids Course looks like!

The Kids Course, comprises of 16 stages (including a 67m zipline) is about 4m above ground. Instructors will be around to guide the children but they will not be dedicated to individual child. Parents play an important role to guide and encourage their child from the ground. :)

At Forest Adventure, safety is utmost importance. The instructors are helping Denver and Gladys to put on the safety harness and helmet.

Our Forest Adventurers are READY! It takes lots of courage and Mommy is proud of them!

It's a public holiday and there are a lot of children participating in the course today. Denver and Gladys watched from below while waiting for their turns to start their obstacle course. The anxiety and excitment is building up!

The first batch of children have set off! Now its their turns! Stage 1 - Climb up the stairs!

Here we go!

Here did our little ones fair on the Kids Course? Stay tune for Part 2 of the Forest Adventure!!
