We love to have Kway Teow Kia whenever we are in Johor Bahru. In Singapore, its known as Kway Chap and we prefer the flavour and taste here though. After the borders opened and when we start to revisit our favourite stall, it suddenly daunt onto me that I have not post about this foodie spot for Kway Teow Kia!
Restoran Rong Shu Xia has been around for many years and when we first visited, the stall (near Plaza Pelangi) is under a big Banyan tree. Now it has expanded into not one but 2 shop space due to its popularity.
What really attracts us being frequent patron of this stall is the fragrant and taste of the thinly sliced pork meat topped with scallion oil and deep fried shallots and their slurping delicious kway teow bowls in light herbal broth.
You can order all kinds of assorted pork meat from pork intestines, pork belly, lean pork, pig's blood, pork skin etc and add a braised egg. :)
Average price for 3-4 pax (depending on how much you ordered) including drinks usually cost us about RM70 - 90 plus.
