~ Pasir Ris Swimming Complex ~

It has been many months since we last visited the pool. The children missed playing in the waters and we decided to fulfill their wishes on Christmas Eve before we mark the end of the school holidays. Hubby drove us to the 'new' Swimming Complex at Pasir Ris. Well, it is new to us as we did not have a chance to visit it until now since its official opening in July 2011. :)

Pasir Ris Swimming Complex
Address: 120 Pasir Ris Central (519640)
Operating Hours: 8.00am - 9.30pm (Thursday to Tuesday & Public Holidays),
*Closed on Wednesdays.
Facilities: 1 Competition Pool, 1 Learner Pool, 1 Wading Pool, 1 Toddlers Pool, 2 Slides, 1 Jacuzzi Pool

It seems like there is a new Tap 'n' Splash card to enter the swimming pool. Ez-link card can also be used.
Ample of lockers for the public. The toilets and showering rooms are clean too.
Competition Pool

These are our kiddos' favourite spots. Children need to be above 1.2m in order to use the Red and Yellow slides. Gladys is above the height limit, but was not allowed to ride as she is not able to swim.

 Play zone for the children.

Denver and Gladys relaxing in the Jacuzzi Pool.

We spent the morning soaking ourselves in the waters. The weather was great and the children enjoyed themselves very much. Gladys was extremely reluctant to leave but our tummys were growling. A nice Mac-Double will surely cheer her up! ^_^

Gladys has also expressed her interest to learn swimming and she has been practising waddling and holding her breath in the waters. It is time for our little girl to go for swimming lessons officially. Hopefully we will see her 'competing' with her brother in the pool SOON!

~ December Holidays @ SAF Changi Seaview Resort ~

We are glad to be back again at the SAF Changi Seaview Resort! This is our favourite chalet spot and the children were excited as they had enjoyed their stay there 2 years ago. http://bpdgtravels.blogspot.sg/2010/12/moments-saf-changi-chalet-day-1.html

The iconic purple Moo Moo Cow welcomed us at the entrance

Each unit is entitled to only 1 carpark lot. Hence we have to look for other locations to park our car. Visitors can also get to the SAF Changi Seaview Resort via Bus 29.

Two years ago, we stayed in the Gemini unit. This time we are pleased to be in the Taurus unit. The wall colours is set in Green theme, one of our favourite colour. :)

The furnishing remains neat and clean. There are 2 bedrooms which are sufficient to accommodate 2 families comfortably.

The balcony and BBQ facing the sea. It is cooling and relaxing to sit here and chit-chat with our friends. I enjoy waking up in the morning hearing the waves of the sea and the boats horning.
Its a also a favourite spot to rest here and enjoy the breeze.

Gladys LOVE the beach and she nevers misses it whenever there is opportunity for her to pick seashells and play with the sand.

It has been raining almost everyday but we were lucky to have clear blue sky during our barbecue sessions.

It is this time where children can get together and have some FUN too!

The key highlights in any chalet is probably preparing and cooking the food. Seeing this always open my appetite. ^_^

It is a short stay but a great time-out for us and the kiddos. We definitely look forward to be back here again soon.

Note: SAF Changi Seaview Resort is not open to public for booking. It is exclusively for SAF personnels. Bookings are allocated by balloting.

~ Christmas Village in the Tropics ~

Ho! Ho! Ho! Santa Claus has set foot at Singapore Flyer this festive season! From now till 1st January 2013, The Christmas Village will be open to public, featuring Santa's workshop. Christmas market place in European style, various christmassy displays which utilized 2 million LED lights that will brighten the night sky with Singapore Flyer as the backdrop.

Our family was invited to visit the Christmas Village and our kiddos were feeling excited.
Map of the Christmas Village

Special Thanks to Gerald for showing us around and telling us more about Santa and his reindeers.

Upon entering Santa's Workshop, we were warmly greeted by Santa himself! The kids were surprised as they did not expect to get up close with Santa. Gladys was extremely happy to see Santa and the christmassy toys and decorations.

Photoshoot and a big hug with Santa.

It was also Denver and Gladys' first time writing their wishes to Santa and the letters will be posted to North Pole!

The workshop is not very big but nicely decorated with a fireplace and toys to give it a cozy and warm feeling of Christmas. There is also a seating area for children to read books or fixing wood crafts.

It has been raining for the past week and the rain welcomed us during our visit as well. We missed out the Santa's sleigh due to the power trip and bad weather. Nevertheless, we managed to take a few photos before it started pouring again. :)

Gladys had fun standing in the 'snow' and it was an experience for her, :)

Tropical "snowland"

Upon exiting, Denver and Gladys did not forget to drop their letters in the mailbox to Santa.

If you love Santa and taking photos, it will probably take about an hour to complete your visiting at the Village. The kids had interactions with Santa and spent some time roaming in the workshop. Its a shame that the wet weather has shortened our stay at the outdoor area. If not, we can take more pictures and I believe our kiddos will be spending more time playing with the 'snow' (foam). The best time to visit the Christmas Village is in the evening where the displays will be lighted up.

Goodbye Santa and may our wishes come true! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
