Crane Dance @ Sentosa Waterfront

After more than 4 years, we are finally back to catch the Crane Dance at Sentosa Waterfront! When it was first launched in December 2010, we made multiple visits to view the show but only to be welcomed by the signboard indicating the show was cancelled due to technical faults.

Lady luck finally smile upon us and we managed to catch the dancing animatronics performance created by Emmy-award winning designer Jeremy Railton.

Standing at 10 storeys tall, the pair of mechanical cranes shared their lovely courtship journey and how they transformed into real birds through music, vibrant and colourful lights, water jets, and animation from the gigantic TV screens on their bodies.

Taking flight

The Crane Dance show (~10 minutes) is available every night, 9pm at Sentosa Waterfront. Do check out Sentosa's website to see if there are any scheduled maintenance to avoid disappointment.

Sentosa's New Attraction - Fort Siloso Skywalk

Fort Siloso Skywalk is Sentosa's new attraction where visitors can take on a trail on an elevated bridge. Standing at 11 storeys high, visitors will enjoy a panorama aerial view above the forest canopy.

The free attraction is opened to public since 15 July 2015 which offers information on the fort's history as well as the surrounding area.

Group photo with Sengkangbabies and ThePerfectFather :)

Instead of using the elevator, our boy decided to take the stairs instead! A good work out for him and the best part is enjoying the breeze at the top after the climb.

We took the easy way out (taking the elevator) and enjoyed a scenic 360 degree view of the surroundings.

Gladys enjoying the breeze and hoping to catch a glimpse of the flying fox in action.

View of Siloso Point Station and the Cable Car Sky Network

If you are not afraid of heights, you may choose to stand on the clear glass panels and look down to admire the view beneath your feet. I must say it took me a lot of courage to do so.

It's windy!

Starting our trail and through the forest canopy which will lead us to Fort Siloso

Fort Siloso, previously a gated attraction is now permanently opened to visitors for FREE! If you wish to learn more about Singapore's only preserved coastal fort and it's history, paid guided tours are available.

Handicraft - Toilet Paper Roll Cross

As the saying goes "One man's trash is another man's treasure", I like to keep toilet or kitchen roll tubes to do recycled craft projects. Not only it is a fun activity you can do with your child, it also helps to guide our children the importance of recycling and how we can transform the discarded materials into purposeful and useful items at home.

Toilet roll tubes are an excellent source of inspiration where you can come up with multiple pieces of art works. Here is one that I did in my course of work which is really easy to make.

Materials

- Toilet/Kitchen Roll Tubes
- Glue Gun
- Scissor
- Paints
- Glitter (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Use a scissor and cut strips of equal width from the tubes. (You need about 30 to make the Cross.)
  2. Paint the toilet roll strips with the colour of your choice. Leave them to dry. (Optional: you can add some glitter glue on your art work after the paint is dry)
  3. Use a hot glue gun to glue the strip together, following the pattern that you like it to be.

With the same principle, you can come up with many focal wall art that does not comes with an expensive price tag for your home. Try it and have fun!

Official Launch of Singapore Cable Car Sky Network

[Media Invite]

14th July 2015 marks another important milestone in the history of Singapore Cable Car network as it opens a new line on Sentosa island. Over the past 40 years, millions have taken the cable car between Mount Faber, Harbour Front and Sentosa. With the new additions of three cable car stations - The Merlion, Imbiah Lookout and Siloso Point Stations, guests can connect from Merlion Plaza to Siloso Beach while enjoying the scenic aerial view of the island.

Feeling excited and happy to be here for the official launch of the new Sentosa Line!

Our family has been taking the cable ride frequently as we hold the Faber Licence membership for 2 years. The children are very accustom with the heights and enjoyed every single trip whenever we decided to hop on and take a loop ride between Faber Peak and Sentosa. It is double happiness for us as we now get to enjoy unlimited joyrides on both cable car lines!

Meet Louie (乐乐), the friendly blue bird who is the official mascot for Singapore Cable Car.

As the saying goes, the more the merrier! We are delighted to meet up with SengkangBabies and The "Perfect" Father at the event.

Mr Iswaran, Minister (Prime Minister's Office) and Second Minister for Home Affairs and Trade Industry, officially launched the new Sentosa Line.

Guests now have seamless connection and easy access to the various exciting attractions in Sentosa! After alighting from Sentosa Station, it takes about 3 - 5 minutes walk to Imbiah Lookout Station. Nearby attractions include Sentosa 4D AdventureLand, Skyline Luge Sentosa and MegaZip Adventure Park.

Taking the ride towards Siloso Point Station, you might be lucky to catch the flying fox from MegaZip Adventure Park in action!

From Imbiah Lookout and towards Merlion Station, you can wave and say hi to those on the Skyline Luge ride.

You know you are approaching Merlion Station as you get closer to the Tiger Sky Tower.

Other attractive destinations includes Madame Tussauds Singapore, Sentosa Merlion, Universal Studios, Trick-Eye Museum and S.E.A Aquarium.

Doodling - All about School

Another doodle piece that I did over the long Hari Raya weekend. Whether is at home or outside, my sketch book, pencil and marker pens are my companion whenever I have an urge to sketch.

My latest addition, Sharpie coloured marker pens added more flavour and vibrancy to my usual black and white doodle. Simply fill up the paper with items that surrounds you and it makes wonder to your picture.

Doodling is a therapeutic activity. An outlet for me to clear my thoughts, uplift my spirit and feeling good after seeing the completed artwork.
