Review - SuperJet Power Shower with Pure Rain Shower Head

[Review]

Whether it is starting my day or after spending long and tiring hours at work, a good quality shower is what I needed to freshen myself up. Personally, I prefer having my shower with stronger water flow/pressure. (Thankfully, the water pressure at our home is pretty good.) It is pretty inconvenient and depressing to clean ourselves with only trickles of water if you are experiencing low or slow water jets during shower. However, if you are facing that problem, maybe a change of shower head will help to improve or solve the problem.

Recently, we have been introduced to Pure Rain Super Jet (Wide) Shower Head, a product from South Korea. The patented technology used to design and produce the shower head provide better water pressure while saving water. We checked out the product video and am pretty impressed with some of its features, so we decided to give it a try to see how well it works for us.

Installation
I am not the handyman in the house, hence I never knew changing of shower heads is SO EASY! Even my 13yo boy was able to fit the new shower head for me. Just turn the old/current shower head counter clockwise and unscrew it from the shower arm. Attach Pure Rain Super Jet Shower Head onto shower arm and turn it clockwise and secure it. Turn on the tap and ensure that there are no leaks. That's it!

Design
Made of stainless steel with full chrome body coating, the design is sleek and simple.

The patented triangular water plate holes (which we cannot really see from the photo) is the key to optimize spray water pressure (increase water pressure by 6 times) and reduce water consumption by 25-50%.

Water Saving
I did a little experiment to see if it really helps to save water by filling up a pail with water ejecting from Pure Rain and my old shower head for 15 seconds at full power. You can tell from the pictures that the strength of water spray ejecting from Pure Rain is stronger.

After 15 seconds, I measured the water level in the pail. For the same amount of time, Pure Rain shower head does saves some water compared to the normal shower head.

Superjet & Silk Spray Shower
The triangular water plate hole makes the water cluster smaller, creating soft & silky feeling mist shower. Our children enjoy their shower with Pure Rain as it emits strong jets of water spray yet feels soft and gentle on their skin.  Personally, I find it very soothing when it comes to cleansing my face. Soap is washed off easily and efficiently.

Negative Ions
Not too sure how this works but it is stated that the patented triangular plate holes generate greater amount of negative ions than the round-shaped holes. Negative ions creates refreshing breathing experience just like when you are near a waterfall. It purifies the air, stabilize nerve system and recover fatigue.

Filter
The micro fabric filter within helps to remove rust and debris enabling users to enjoy hygienic shower. When the fabric filter is dirty, it can be reused by washing/soaking/rinsing it once every few months or replaced after 12-18 months.

Even though we have rain shower installed in our bathrooms, we are happy and satisfied to alternate the usage of rain shower and shower head to complete our shower experience.

Spicy Thai - Thai Cafe @ Aljunied

[Review]

Earlier this month, we had a pleasant dinner at Spicy Thai - Thai Cafe at Aljunied. Specialized in North-Eastern Thai cuisine, it has a wide variety of dishes on its menu at an attractive price. Located within the heartlands, Spicy Thai has earned its regular base of customers and the restaurant is usually packed during the weekends.

There are seating within and outside the restaurant. Simple decor and great for gatherings among family and friends.

We ordered some refreshing drinks to compliment our meal.
(Organic Wheatgrass - $4, Ice Thai Tea - $2.50, Thai Bandung - $2.80)

The piping hot fish maw crab meat soup is tasty with the fish maw soft and chewy. We only find it a little too salty else it would be a nice dish to go with rice.

(Fish Maw Crab Meat Soup - $28)

I asked the children to vote for their favourite dish and this was their pick almost immediately. I thought they may not like the dill within the omelette but to my surprise, they LOVE it! Did a Wikipedia search on dill and apparently, it belongs to the celery family. Dill is known as 'Lao Coriander' in English and 'Phak Chee Lao' in Thai. Apart from being an ingredient in Thai style omelette, it is also commonly use in soups and curries. This is definitely our must-order dish if we visit again.

Thai Dill Omelette (Cha Om) - $10

Another personal favourite of ours - BBQ Pork Belly. Pork belly has always been our family's top favourite dish on the list. Love the sweetness and its juicy tender meat. Plus, the meat is cooked over charcoal, which leaves a fragrant aroma and taste in our palate. Every bite is so delicious that we could not stop grabbing for more. It is a must-try!

(BBQ Pork Belly - $18)

When it comes to kangkong, we prefer it to be stir-fried with sambal. At Spicy Thai, we experienced another way of savouring the leafy vegetable. It looks like a pot of tempura from afar and our kiddos are very receptive to this dish. If you find it not shiok enough, dip it in their special thai sauce to invoke your tastebud!

(Deep Fried Kang Kong with Special Thai Sauce - $10)

This is a very interesting Otak dish served in a coconut husk. You can find prawns within and every scoop of otah is spicy yet satisfying.

Thai Style Otak (Hommok) - $18

Sometimes, I really hope I am able to take more spice as I am missing so much! The Lala Bee Hoon taste so delicious but I am only able to savour some as it is a little too spicy for me. Give it a good stir to let the sauce thoroughly absorb through the beehoon! Lots of lala within and it is a wonderful dish to share among family and friends.

(Lala Bee Hoon - $18)

Another must try dish! The sea bass meat is tender within and crispy on the outside. Goes perfectly well with rice and I love the sweetness! Next time, I would love to try out the steamed sea bass or catfish!

(Deep Fried Sea Bass with Mango Salad - $Seasonal Price)

After a round of shiok, hot and spicy food, I am definitely looking forward to dessert! Time to chill my tongue!

Love the colours of the Thai Red Ruby which is sweet and crunchy.
(Thai Red Ruby - $4)

Among the warm dessert, this is my personal favourite. I like the sweetness and softness of the tapioca that melts in my mouth.
(Tapioca with Coconut Milk - $4)

Overall, we had a very satisfying meal at Spicy Thai. Most of the dishes are to our liking and the pricing is attractive. If you like Thai food, Spicy Thai is a nice restaurant within the neighbourhood estate where you can enjoy good authentic Thai cuisine.

Forest City (森林城市) @ Johor Bahru

During the September school holidays, we drove up to Johor Bahru to check out the swimming pool and water sports at Forest City. In case you are wondering what is Forest City, it is Southeast Asia's largest mixed-use green development in Malaysia, Johor, near Singapore by Tuas Checkpoint. The island is mostly made up of reclaimed land and it i

How to get to Forest City?
We tried to locate Forest City on our GPS but wasn't successful. If you are driving in, better luck would be to rely on Google Map. Alternatively, once you cross the checkpoint via Tuas Second link, look out for the brown or big green banner along the road indicating the directions to Forest City.

Swimming Pools @ Forest City
Currently, there isn't much shopping/dining/accommodation open to the public yet. Nevertheless, the view of the vast sea line, sandy beach and swimming pools is enough to attract us to cross the border and have a day trip to Forest City.

WELCOME TO FOREST CITY!

We were greeted by the cute mascots representing different states in Malaysia.

The swimming pool is surrounded by lustful greenery at the backdrop.

The pool is not very deep and there is a sandy area leading down to the waters. Be careful though as you walk down as there is a little slope downwards and you might miss it and slip.

Mini pool area with a big Swan float. :) I thought it would be nice if the float is at the bigger pool

Children swimming pool - it was closed for maintenance during our visit. We were a little disappointed but our kiddos did not mind missing it as they prefer the bigger pool.

Infinity pool - Our favourite spot. We were there on a weekday and we had the entire pool for ourselves! A perfect spot to catch a glimpse the beach and soak in the waters to play and relax.

Infinity Pool

Naturally, we spent most of the time at the infinity pool. The weather was good and it was quiet. Away from the crowd, we enjoyed its serenity and peace.

Family shots with the white swan.

Beach @ Forest City
After taking our shower, its time to take a stroll by the beach. 一起去看大海咯!

View of the beach @ Forest City

I love the sculptures scattered around the beach. Picture perfect against the sea view.

Hi! I am finding Dory! Any 'fish' spotted her?

 Gigantic crabs on the beach!

Denver & Gladys definitely know how to relax their body and mind. Lying down by the beach, looking out into the vast sea and feeling the sea breeze, kick start our stayacation to a wonderful time.

Sports Activities @ Forest City

While having fun at the pool, do not miss out the sport activities (Wet & Dry) by Cape Cabana Sports Centre (at the pool bar counter).

Although it indicates its daily operating hours from 10am - 6pm, that day, we waited till 11am before seeing the staff setting up the play equipment.

Pricing is pretty attractive.
1) ATV (RM30 for 20 minutes ride)
2) SUP (RM20 for 20 minutes, RM60 for 1 hour)
3) Water Walking (RM15 for 10 minutes)
4) Jet Ski ((RM90 for 20 minutes, RM220 for 1 hour)
5) Banana Boat (RM20 for 15 minutes, RM40 for 30 minutes)

Water Walking is conducted at the infinity pool. Hence, if you wish to spend some time at the pool, best to arrive earlier.

We decided to go for the ATV (All-terrain vehicle)! After purchasing our tickets by the counter, we made our way to the beach. We were lucky there there wasn't a queue as it will be pretty hot to wait for our turn under the scorching weather.

Helmets on and we picked our ATV! Even though the kiddos and I don't have a license. The staff quickly guided us on how to operate the 4-wheeler.

We bought 2 tickets for 4 of us to ride. (2 pax per vehicle). As Gladys is 10 years old, she is allowed to drive the ATV with an adult as the passenger! Its so COOL and our first to ride on the beach!

Denver took me on the ride. It was a little bumpy at first, but everyone got the hang of it after the second round!

I must say it wasn't easy to snap a photo while both vehicles were on the go. :)

Still we managed to take some great pictures for remembrance.

Everyone had a great time and we could only wish there was more time!
