Top activities happening over SG50 National Day Long Weekend

The Golden Jubilee weekend (7 - 10 August 2015) is approaching and lots of fun-filled and exciting activities have been lined up as we celebrate Singapore's 50th Birthday!

Here's a collection of the activities and programmes available island-wide to help you plan ahead!


Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay

1. Esplanade Concert Hall Open House (8 August 2015)
- Time: 1pm, 3pm, 6.15pm, 8.15pm

2. Free Performances/Workshops

Free dance and music performances by local talents, talks, workshops and art installations with a bazaar featuring local entrepreneurs.

Singapore Botanic Gardens

1. Three-day Carnival at Singapore Botanic Gardens (7 - 9 August 2015)

Three-day carnival at Singapore's first UNESCO World Heritage Site! Activities include free movie screenings, performances, traditional games and crafts.

- Time: 10am to 10pm
- Location: Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage, Palm Valley, Orchid Plaza, Bandstand, Swan Lake
- Admission is FREE

2. National Orchid Garden

FREE admission to locals (till end of August)


Singapore Science Centre

Free admission (7 - 10 August 2015)

Singapore Science Centre will be providing FREE general admission to all Singaporeans, including "Human Body Experience" exhibition, "Interplay: Where Science Meets Art" Exhibition, KidsSTOP, Snow City, The Cliff @ Snow City and the Omni-Theatre. (based on each attraction's capacity.


Singapore Sports Hub

1. Sing50 Concert (7 August 2015)

Showcasing 50 years of Singapore music, Sing50 features songs from different genres, culture and communities that were composed, performed or made popular by Singapore artists.

2. SG50 Carnival (8 - 9 August 2015)

Be part of the two days birthday carnival comprising of performances, games and fun for the whole family during the Jubilee weekend! Enjoy Ah Boys to Men 3: Frogmen movie, LIVE NDP screening, sports try-outs, plus daily prizes to be won and more!

Gardens by the Bay

1. Garden Rhapsody - SG50 Edition (6 August 2015 onwards)

The Supertrees at Gardens by the Bay come to life with a special SG50 edition of Garden Rhapsody. We celebrate Singpore's 50th birthday with nostalgic favourites from yesteryear by our local greatest songwriters and composers.

- Time: 7.45pm & 8.45pm (additional 9.30pm show from 6 - 10 August)
- Location: Supertree Grove
- Programme is FREE

2. Mass Dance for SG50 (8 August 2015)

Enjoy a flash mob under the Supertrees and join in a delightful mass dance set to your favourite Singapore tunes!

3. Discover Singapore Stories at Flower Dome (Current - 13 September)

Walk back in time and discover the story of Singapore through tales and legends.

- Time: 9am - 9pm

* Local residents enjoy 50% off tickets to Conservatories during the Jubilee weekend! (7 - 10 August 2015)
* Local Senior residents (60 years old and above) enjoy FREE admission to both Conservatories when they visit between 1 June and 31 August 2015.


Marina Barrage

1. Families for Life Family Picnic (7 - 8 August 2015)

In collaboration with Families for Life, RSAF, PUB and NParks, enjoy family time at Marina Barrage with fun-filled activities and programme such as Black Knights aerial display, performances by the SAF Music & Dance Company, food trucks, games, bouncy castles and mobile cafe.

2. Live screening of NDP (9 August 2015)

Catch the live screening of NDP on the Green Roof and admire the spectacular city skyline.

Marina Bay

1. Community Chest Heartstrings Walk 2015 (7 August 2015)

A fun walk for everyone to join in and an expression of our aspiration as a caring society. The annual community event consist of 4km Fun Walk along the Waterfront trail at Marina Bay, a Vertical Marathon up 57 storeys of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel and a fun-filled Carnival at the Event Plaza


2. Free admission to ArtScience Museum (7 - 9 August 2015)

Singaporeans and Permanent residents enjoy free admission to the ArtScience Museum and MBS Skating Rink. There is also a special 50% discount for Sampan rides along The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands (Subject to terms and conditions)

1. Cable Car Joyrides

Hop onboard the Mount Faber line and immerse yourself in the spirit of patriotism as the entire fleet of cabins will be wrapped with the Singapore Flag!


2. Ang Ku Kueh Girl Paper Craft Workshop (8 - 9 August 2015)

Get your creative juices flow with a special paper craft workshop organised by home-grown talent Ang Ku Kueh Girl and Friends. You and your little ones will be taught how to create a multi-fold greeting card with a unique Cable Car envelope.

Available with a minimum spend of $30 at Faber Peak Singapore or Singapore Cable Car.

Golden Jubilee Promotion on Sentosa

Celebrate SG50 with ActiveSG

7 - 10 August 2015
Expect  large and fantastic array of sports over the Golden Jubilee weekend where Sports Centres islandwide come alive with sports try-outs, competitions, challenges and a cycling excursion.

Free Bus and Train rides

9 August 2015 
Free travel on National Day from the start of service to the end of operation! Fare gates will be opened for train services allowing people to board the trains for free. Commuters can board any bus free of charge without tapping their fare cards.
