~ JB Makan & Shopping Trip Dec 13 - Day 1 (Part 2) ~

2:45pm -  We arrived at Sutera Mall for our first shopping experience. It has been awhile since our last visit and there is a lot more to offer at Sutera now than before! More retail space were created with dining, shopping, entertainment all under one roof!

Name: Sutera Mall
Location: 1 Jalan Sutera Tanjung 8/4, Taman Sutera Utama, 81300 Johor Bahru, Johor
GPS: 1.517663,103.671464

We stopped by Hui Lau Shan (Hong Kong Dessert King) and Gong Cha (Taiwan famous Bubble Tea) for some chilling drinks. These are not JB local dessert but we could not resist getting a cup to quench our thirst.

The younger ones follow the Daddies to play at the arcade centre at Basement level while Mummies went around shopping! I was looking at CNY deco when Hubby whatsapp me this photo of Gladys winning herself a stuff toy at her FIRST ATTEMPT! Our feisty girl always has some winning strike whenever she travels overseas. :)

5:15pm - We were finally back in our rooms @ KSL Resort after a long day. Love to be back again! Here is our top 5 reasons why we chose KSL for this trip.

1) Easy access to Pasar Malam (out KSL City which opens every Monday)
2) Easy access to KSL City Mall for shopping, movie, massage and playground
3) Newer hotel with clean and neat rooms + great view of Johor Bahru.
4) Swimming pool + Dinosaur water theme park
5) Centralized location

Having many children with us means we also need to plan for their entertainment as well. :) KSL City Mall is just next to KSL Resort. Apart from shopping, it also has a cinema, karaoke, indoor playground and arcade centre.

6pm - Fun factor continue to rage as soon as we settled into our rooms! Who can resist such a nice pool! KSL Hotel Guests also has the privilege to enter Dinosaur Water Theme Park for FREE (remember to show them the room card before enter)! The children wasted no time changing into their swimming attire and its time to PLUNGE into the WATERS!

Enter the jaws into the Dinosaur Water Theme Park. Welcome to Mini Jurassic Park in the City. There's only about 3 dinosaurs within but most importantly was the company that truly raised the fun factor.

The slides are not that high but the speed and splash was fast and furious!

The main highlight was definitely the Banana Boat where all the children craze over! Hop on for a Banana boat ride and let Uncle Andy steer you towards the waterfall!

What happens when the mighty big boat meets the small float?

Bonding time with family and friends :)
Their faces tell it all! IT WAS 100% FUN @ THE POOL!

7:45pm - Dinner time. Everyone was tired by now. We settled for dinner at Good Taste Food House near KSL City Mall. Hopefully as the name suggest the food will be tasty.

Name: Good Taste Food House (美丰味菜饭之家)
Location: Jalan Serigala, Taman Abad, 80250 Johor Bahru
GPS: 1.486099,103.761512

Being in JB a couple of times, we roughly figured out how the mix vegetable stall works. Trays of food will be displayed. A plate of rice was served and all we need to do is to scoop the ingredients that we wanted ourselves. Show the plate to the counter and you will be charged accordingly. My plate of veg rice plus Hubby's pig blood (猪血) cost only RM7. Food was warm and I find the taste reasonably satisfying.

Hubby ordered a bowl of Curry Mee (RM5) from another stall which includes some cockles, fish balls, beansprouts etc. It wasn't too spicy and the taste was alright. Didn't gave Hubby any WoW factor but our dinner was cheap and good.

Our final order was 20 sticks of Beef and Mutton satay. Not sure if it was the marination of the meat, I was not able to distinguish which is beef and which is mutton! They tasted the same to me (same sentiments from Hubby too)! The satay sauce was sweet and not too spicy. Satay meat was tender and chewy. Not the best satay that we had but it was not that bad either.

8:30pm - Back at KSL City Mall. While the Tan and Lee family decided to go for another round of dessert, I decided to go shop around before the mall closes at 10pm. :)

10pm - Washing up and Lights Off!

It was a long but eventful Day One! More food galore on Day 2. Stay Tune!
