Day 1 in Kuala Lumpur – From Singapore to KLCC & Setia Alam Night Market
Our Kuala Lumpur adventure officially began bright and early from Singapore! Instead of flying, we decided to travel by land for a more relaxed and flexible journey. After crossing over to Johor Bahru, we engaged a private hire driver who picked us up directly from JB and drove us all the way to Kuala Lumpur.
The journey was long, but thankfully smooth and comfortable. We were lucky to arrive in KL by around 10AM — much earlier than expected!
Our first stop was checking into our Airbnb unit at Soho Suites KLCC. We specifically chose this accommodation because of its super strategic location, just a short walking distance to KLCC, Pavilion, and many food spots around the city centre. The apartment was spacious, convenient, and perfect for our family stay in Kuala Lumpur.

After settling down, our girl immediately headed over to KLCC for the Comic Fiesta event she had been looking forward to, while hubby and I took the opportunity to explore the area on our own. Of course, no trip is complete without shopping and food hunting!
We made our way to Pavilion Shopping Mall, one of our favourite malls in KL. Along the way, we stopped by Gigi Coffee for a quick coffee break before continuing our shopping spree. We also couldn’t resist grabbing ice-cream from Venchi before finally settling down for a satisfying meal at Maisen.
As evening approached, we reunited with our girl and headed to the famous Setia Alam Night Market for dinner. The pasar malam was packed with food stalls, snacks, drinks, and local street food that instantly gave us the real Malaysian night market experience. From savoury bites to sweet treats, there was just so much to see and eat!
It was definitely an eventful and fulfilling first day in Kuala Lumpur — filled with travelling, shopping, food, and family time.
