Fuhang Soy Milk (阜杭豆漿) is a very popular breakfast place in #Taipei among the locals and especially tourists. The queue line is pretty crazy where customers can expect to queue for more than 1 hour!
Fuhang has a long-standing history since its establishment in 1958, earned its Michelin Bib Gourmand and consistently serving popular breakfast items like Soy Milk (豆漿), Deep Fried Chinese Donut (油條), Signature Thick Bread (厚餅), Sesame Flat Bread (薄餅), Egg Pancake (蛋餅)
Located within the 2nd floor of the food court in Hua Shan Market, queue line stretches from the shop floor to the ground floor is typical. However, queue line generally goes pretty fast once the shop is open.
How to order?
It is good to know how to order so as not to hold the line.
1) Indicate if you are taking out or dining in
2) Order the type of soy milk
3) Order of bread/pancake/others
4) Make payment
How to get there?
- Shandao Temple MRT (Exit 5)
- 15 minutes walk from Taipei Main Station
*We stayed at Meander 1948 (Check out our other video - https://youtu.be/RMyDgxf7Tbg) and we were able to walk over from where we stayed which took about 20 minutes and arrived just in time before the shop opens.
Is it worth the wait?
While we are not used to the salty soy milk, the other breakfast items that we ordered are pretty good. While there are also many traditional breakfast shops around serving similar local breakfast, we thought it was an experience to try for once.
To queue for 30-40 minutes or even longer may be frustrating for many and felt it is not worth the wait. We planned our time, set our expectations and enjoyed our meal. We also packet some food so our children can try as they are not the early birds.
