River Hongbao 2017

Our 8th year to River Hongbao to welcome the Year of the Rooster. This year, we find the lighting around the surrounding seems to appear brighter than before. Every year, River Hongbao is filled with extravaganza of lights, sights, sounds to celebrate the festivity.

This year, apart from the performances, handicraft booth and food street, RHB 2017 has incorporated modern, futuristic elements into the lanterns, plus nightly fireworks and laser displays.

Snapping our first family photo at the entrance of River Hongbao 2017.

Our annual tradition of taking pictures of the 12 Chinese Zodiac animals without fail and not forgetting checking our luck and overall outlook for the year.

For the first time, River Hongbao is featuring a large scale lantern display of local natural sights - Sungei Buloh Wetland to encourage visitors to appreciate our environment. Standing on the 33m long and 7m wide bridge, we had a elevated view of the mangrove swamp with crabs, mud skippers and birds. This is also a good spot to check out the firework displays and overall view of the lantern pieces at RHB.

Visiting the Wishing Well at RHB has also become our annual tradition. Since a few years ago, we have made it a point to ensure everyone hit the bell with a coin for good luck and fortune. Hence, we brought along our collection of 5 cent coins that we have accumulated through the year as our 'bullets' to hit the bells.

This year the God of Fortune not looking hopped onto a boat, he also put on a golden robe.

930pm - We were just in time to catch a glimpse of God of Fortune spreading 'fortune' to the visitors.

Lantern display on the seating gallery - Abundance and Happiness featuring a huge mother hen laying golden eggs.

Wishing all a Prosperous Year of the Rooster with good health, happiness and lots of golden opportunity.
