Last weekend, we joined our friends for dessert at the newly opened bistro - The Workbench in Ang Mo Kio Ave 1. Although the interior design looks simple, it is a pretty comfortable and cozy option within the heartlands for a chilling session. Magazines can be found at one end of the shop and customers can enjoy free-flow of water.
Menu for Ice-cream and Coffee is clearly displayed on the cemented wall at the front counter and there is a decent range of ice-cream flavour to pick from - caramel, cookies & cream, peanut butter, rocky road, strawberry cheesecake, mango sorbet, gula melaka, coffee etc.
Waffles with a scoop of Ice Cream - $7.50
The waffles from The Workbench is served warm. Crispy on the outside and not overly sweet. It would have be perfect if it was more fluffy and thicker within. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the chocolate syrup toppings on the Cookies & Cream ice-cream to go with the waffles. A decent place to sit down for a coffee-break or dessert while flipping through the magazines or simply enjoy a chill-lax session with your family or friends.
