~ Elephant Parade Singapore 2011 ~

Have you heard of the Elephant Parade?

"Elephant Parade is the world’s largest open-air exhibition dedicated to saving the Asian elephant from extinction. During a couple of months, hundreds of brightly coloured elephants swarm the streets of the city. Each elephant is a unique art object, painted by local and international artists.

At the end of the exhibition the statues are auctioned. Part of the proceeds from the auction will be donated to The Asian Elephant Foundation, in relation to saving the Asian elephant."

~ extraction from Wikipedia.

The first Elephant Parade was held in Rotterdam in 2007. This is the first time the elepants make their way to Asia and Singapore is their first stop!

From 11 November 2011 to 12 January 2012162 brightly painted life-sized fibreglass elephants will swarm the streets of Singapore! Catch them around Orchard Road, Marina Bay, VivoCity, Singapore Zoo, Botanic Gardens and more!

We made our first stop to take photos of these beautifully painted elephants at the Singapore Zoo! Denver is proud to be my model for this round of photo shoot. ^_^ He tries to think of all kinds of pose based on the theme of each elephant. Very cute and professional oh!

For more photos of the elephants, check out our Elephant Parade facebook album!

Hello. Are the elephants at the Singapore Zoo located inside or outside the gantries?

Hi g.ta,

Yes, there are 25 of them at the Zoo and more at Vivo! Check out the link on where are the elephants located.

Hi Xenophober,

2 elephants are located outside the zoo while the rest (23 of them) are inside (all around the park). You have to buy tickets to go in and see them :)
