Sunday Brunch Buffet Family Feast @ Carne & Caipirinha

[Media Invite]

Christmas is only a couple of weeks away and it is a season to feel jolly with your family! Have you make plans on where to celebrate this joyous occasion? How about pampering yourself and your love ones a nice family feast without burning a hole in your wallet?

To usher in the season of giving, Carne & Caipirinha Brazilian Churrascaria is introducing a truly family and kids friendly holiday feast during its Sunday Brunch Buffet! With 2 paying parents, up to 3 children and 1 domestic helper get to dine for FREE! It is 6 pax dining for the price of 2!

Carne & Caipirinha is one of the first restaurant in Singapore to roll out this promotion specially for families, allowing parents to enjoy a good break and meal, spending quality time with their children and even bring along their helper! KK Ng, the man behind the initiative is a family man himself, who treasure quality time with his family as well as enjoying good food.

Tuck quietly at Sunset Way, Clementi, the 74-seater Brazilian Churrascaria (Barbeque restaurant) offers complete alfresco dining experience amidst lush greenery.

This is our first time dining in a Brazilian style churrascaria restaurant and we learnt that it employs the famous Rodizio style of service; a variety of meats is served to patrons in rotation. There are basically 5 simple steps to follow to help you maximize your dining experience.

Step 1 : Order your drinks. While the adult can pick their choice of zesty and refreshing Brazilian cocktail, the children are not left out. Try out their Guaraná Antarctica, a Brazilian soft drink that is fizzy yet not too sweet. Personally, I prefer this above Sprite or Coke as it serves as a better thirst quencher minus the sugar.

*Note: Drinks are not inclusive in the buffet.

Hubby and I picked alcoholic cocktails -  Caipirinah, which is refreshing and zesty.

Step 2 : Salad Buffet Bar. Kick start your meal with the salad buffet bar. I applaud for the simple yet appetizing spread that is both adult and kids friendly.

Consisting of a good mixture of salad, pasta, rice and vegetables, there is definitely something for the young and old. Our kiddos love the potatoes and pasta while I prefer the pickles, mushroom and assorted salad.

Assorted dressing and sides for your salad.

This Christmas, do not miss the Brazilian-style Turkey Salad whipped in crunchy greens and tossed with turkey chunks. Or indulge in the Christmas Fruit Salad which stars a medley of fresh fruits.

Our girl picking her favourite green selection.

I love the way the buffet bar is laid and decorated - pleasing and soothing. Served in smaller portion yet exquisite. Cooked food is always warm and dishes are served fresh.

Step 3 : Turn your colour disc - GREEN! On every table, this is a colour disc which indicates "Yes, Please", or "No, Thanks". Once you are ready for the Passadors (chefs-cum-meat servers) to slice charcoal-barbequed meats onto your plates, do turn it green and get ready to enjoy up to 15 types of beef, chicken, pork, lamb and fish!

Carne & Caipirinha also serve cheese buns, salsa and Tapioca flour with bacon dips which helps to reduce the grease from the meat.

Our girl is a big fan of cheese and it is no surprise that the cheese buns are her favourite pick for the night. I lost count on the number of times she has asked for more!

Step 4 : Tuck in the meat! While the sides are delicious, we have to reserve tummy space for the mains - unlimited serving of premium-quality grills! All the meats at Carne & Caipirinha are slow-roasted over charcoal fire, which helps to retain the rich flavours within the meat and imparts an irresistible smoky fragrance.

Passadors, dressed in traditional gaucho outfits, will tote skewers and carve dining portions of meat right on diners' plates. They will indicate the type of meat being served and you can request for more or less slices.

It was a pleasure to see the Passadors carving the meat.

After awhile, I lost count on the amount of meat that was served! Pork ribs, Lamb leg, Sausage and Chicken bacon, Pork belly, Butter fish, Chicken thigh, Chicken heart, Pork ham, Beef hump, Beef rump cap are some that I could recall!

All meat is served warm and best to eat while it is still warm. I was so engross in taking pictures and notes that it was a shame that some of them turned cold. :)

After tasting most of the meat, our family's personal favourites go to the Beef hump, Lamb leg, Butter fish, Grilled prawn wrapped in bacon and Pork belly! The pork belly is crispy and juicy while the beef hump is tender and melt in your mouth. The Grilled prawns wrapped in bacon is limited-time-only for Christmas and New Year specials, so do not miss tasting the succulent prawns!

It was also my first trying out the Chicken heart, which is pretty chewy and tasty. Worth a try if you haven't tasted before.

After a few rounds of meat, Hubby and I welcome something different on the plate - Grilled Pineapple! I don't like pineapples - not even in dessert. The only time I probably will eat the pineapples is when they are in the Hawaiian pizza. That explains why I was reluctant and not tempted to taste at all when the grilled pineapple was served on my plate.

However, Hubby persuaded and strongly recommend that I should just take a bite before judging - and so I did. It was a bite that I did not regret taking as the grilled pineapple tasted so sweet! It did not cut my tongue and I found myself asking for more after finishing the first serving! After checking, we understand that the pineapple was first cooked. It was then covered with some cinnamon before sending it for grilling - which explains the sweetness. A Must Try at Carne & Caipirinha for us!

Step 5 : Turn your colour disc - RED. Too much indulgence into the meat?  Need a break? Turn the colour disc to "No, Thanks" and the Passadors will skip your table. You can grab another chilling drink or have some salads to clear your palette from the grease.

Meet Chef Brito, the man behind Carne & Caipirinha's delectable cuisines, who is a gaucho - traditional cowboy from Rio Grande do Sul, with more than 36 years of experience whipping up authentic Brazilian churrasco.  Thanks to him and the team, we had a sumptuous family meal.

I have eaten at other Churasscuria before and I love the concept! I like the green and red discs to indicate if you want more or to stop. Might consider bringing my hubby there for his birthday. (Any kids/helper wants to tag along? hee hee)
