~ 3D2N Johor Bahru Food Trail - Day 3 ~

Day 3 - Our family had a good night rest and we were ready to go home. Having our own personal transport gives us the flexibility to travel freely which made this food trail so enjoyable. Thanks to 8 Days Boutique Hotel for making our staycation so comfortable and secure.

Before heading home, we stopped by Tong Tong Cross Way Bay Hong Kong Roast Meat (糖糖尖沙咀港式臘) for lunch. The shop space looked fairly new, empty but bright.

Looking through the menu, pricing might be a little competitive. A plate of chicken rice is RM5.5 (~SGD 2). Char Siew and Roasted Pork Rice is RM7 (~SGD 3)

We ordered a platter of mixed Char siew, Roasted pork and Duck meat to share. Overall opinion was the meat was tender, sweet and juicy. Skin of the roasted pork was crispy but we felt it could be crispier.

One thing to take note is Tong Tong's chilli sauce - which is SUPER HOT! Considering our boy who can take spice pretty well, regretted pouring the chilli over his plate of rice after taking his first bite. It was too overwhelming for him and the next course of action was to gobble down lots of water to flame off the effect. A Yeah for those who can take spice but caution for those who can't.

Roast chicken - a little too oily in my opinion and I will appreciate if there were more serving of cucumbers. Nevertheless, the chicken meat is moist, tender and nicely sliced that is not too thick to chew or too dry and stiff to taste.

While we felt the price is a little high considering dining in JB, it was a decent meal for all to share and the food tasted alright. If you like to try some roasted meat all under one roof, you may want to give this a try.
