Kobo Barbecue 烤霸工坊 (Mount Austin) - Heaven for Meat Lovers

During our stay with Prince33, we chance upon Kobo Barbecue (烤霸工坊) which is just next to the hotel. We nearly missed the restaurant (despite the big signage on the exterior of the building) as the main entrance is on the second floor (above Old Town Cafe) which you have to take a lift or stairs up.

Kobo is an international style BBQ restaurant in Mount Austin which offers All-You-Can-Eat hotpot, barbecue and grilled buffet at a reasonable price (given the quality and array of food Kobo offers to diners).

PRICING

Adult RM88 (nett)

Child RM38 (nett)
*Height below 1.4m
*Child 3 years old and below dine for free

Senior Citizens RM68 (nett)
*60 years and above

I like the ambiance of the restaurant as it is spacious and cosy. Ample seating available and it is suitable to host families and groups of friends.

Kobo offers a sumptuous spread and wide variety of food that is welcoming for meat lovers! Under meat selection, there are different cuts of non-marinated and marinated chicken, beef and pork that is bound to suit your taste bud. Pork belly, bacon roasted sausage, chicken tomyam, chicken yakitori, beef steak, lamb chops are just some to name on the long list of ingredients available.

Not forgetting the seafood section which includes oysters, saba fish, scallop, squid, clams, salmon fillet, mussels, prawns and more!

For hotpot lovers, slices of meat is also readily available in the fridge for diners to pick.

Assorted sausages, portuguese cheese fondue, french cheese fondue and egg bacon!

Kobo also has its signature sauce which comprises of minced garlic, minced ginger, red chilli, cilantro and celery. You can either grab the ready made ones or mix your own sauce.

An appetizing selection of greens for those going for hotpot and healthier option.

Cooked food include kimchi, fried rice, sushi, fried potatoes, fried onion rings, seaweed etc.

Fruits selection

Hubby and I were delighted to see the old school glass bottled soft drinks at the drinks counter! Could not miss this golden opportunity demonstrating our kiddos how we open the bottles using the bottle opener! Funny right? But these little glass bottled drinks were part of our childhood and we collected many bottle caps then to play during our schooling days! You can imagine for the rest of the evening, Denver & Gladys were happily hopping to the drink counter, forgoing the soft drinks at the dispenser, for the fun of opening the bottled drinks themselves.

Our table with 1 hotpot and 2 BBQ zones.

There were so much food to select and we were spoilt with choices.

BBQ-ing meat

BBQ-ing more meat! You can tell that we are meat lovers since there isn't much 'activity' in our hotpot.

I forgot to mention that you can ask the chef to grill some delicious oysters too!

Our meal is not complete without desserts! Assorted flavoured ice-cream and chocolate fondue! :)

It was a pleasant experience dining at Kobo. Staff is rather prompt refilling the ingredients and clearing our plates. We had a satisfying and filling dinner. Since our hotel is just next door, we took our time to dine and walked back to rest. We love to be back here again soon!

Wow the spread looks food for RM88! This reminds me of Seoul Gardens but with more variety. I like places that not only has steamboat, but also the grill and pan. Always boil the food very boring leh hehehe

it's definitely much better than Seoul garden in terms of spread and quality of food. 😊 I also like the variety of cooking option. so it's not too oily or soupy.
