Conrad Centennial Singapore - Golden Peony's Luxury Mooncake

Some time ago, I was cordially invited by Conrad Centennial Singapore to the launch of a series of luxury mooncakes selection from their award-winning Golden Peony restaurant. I looked forward to the session as I am a mooncake lover. Taking down 1 to 2 full mooncakes was not a problem when I was younger but it is getting tougher with age. ^_^ Mid-Autumn festival is also a significant festival in the family as Hubby and I celebrate our annual wedding anniversary.


Snowskin mooncakes always entice me. I like to sink my teeth into the chill and soft filling. Children love it too as it feels like a dessert after meal. Golden Peony has 4 mini snowskin delights to pick from.

I was able to try out all the mooncake selections from Golden Peony and I enjoyed them to the fullest! The mooncakes are not too sweet nor oily.

As the saying goes, the best is always saved for the last. Here comes Golden Peony's signature mooncake! Initially, I thought it will be yam flavour within the beautiful layers of crust but I was totally wrong.

That evening, Masterchef from Hong Kong and his team demonstrated how Golden Peony's signature mooncake was made. He gladly shared his experience and showcased his skills during the demonstration. From choosing the ingredients, preparing the sweet potato, to kneeding the dough and skillfully putting in the fillings and wrapping it up. The entire process looked so simple but only an expert chef like him could do it to perfection.

But that's not all! Within a couple of minutes, Chef used the Sweet Potato Pastry and created a beautiful piece of food art.
